Uncle Kurt & Aunt Shirley Getting a Harley Trike 8-23-08

Tonight, Saturday, 8-23-08, I got an e-mail from Aunt Shirley that lives in Missouri. Seems that she and my Uncle Kurt are going to Kansas City next month and are going to get a Harley trike!! When I lived up there in Missouri, Uncle Kurt & I would go to the Harley shop and look at the bikes. He is Harley through & through. And if anybody lays that "I'm too old to ride" thing on ya, tell them about Uncle Kurt....He just turned 80 in April. Scroll down to meet Uncle Kurt & Aunt Shirley and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT BIGGER, JUST CLICK THE PICTURE!

Here they are test driving a trike..This is not a Harley though. It looks like a Gold Wing to me. But they rode it and loved it and the next time you see them on the blog, they will be on their Harley trike. I can't wait...That's it for this post. Stay tuned for their next post (September maybe) and pictures of them on the Harley. I may ride the bike up to see them and get some pictures of them moving on down the road.

Until then, scroll down for more family posts and don't forget to click on the "older posts" on the bottom of EACH page for more posts back to January 08. Until next post, ya'll be careful out there........JOHN

The Family Pets (Texas) 8-17-08

The following dogs, cat & bird have been members of the family in the past. Some are still with us while others are with other family members or friends. Scroll down and check out all the family pets here in Texas. REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE....

This is Scarlett. She is a Shih Tzu and has been with us since 2005. Her birthday is Dec 2, 2004.

This is Tigger enjoying the fire. She has been with us since 2001. She was born sometime in 2000.

Ellie May & Scarlett in their cage. We got Ellie in 2007 from some folks in Burkburnett Texas. Ellie was born in 2006.

Ellie & Scarlett. While Scarlett is all Shih Tzu, Ellie is 1/2 Shih Tzu and 1/2 Chihuahua. They are both EXCELLENT watch dogs.

Here is Fritz when he was just a pup

This is Flash. He was born in December 2004 and lives with Janice's parents.

Another of Flash. When he was a pup. he was full of energy too. Now that he is a little older, he has calmed down some.

This is Rocco. I gave him to my nephew rob up in Kansas City. He belonged to the family down the street whose son was killed in a car accident. As Rocco was his dog, they had to get rid of him because of the memories..

This is Amanda's cat & our Grand kitty, Mittens. He has the bushiest tail I have ever seen on a cat

Another of Rocco in the back yard..

This is Zoey, a parrot of some type..Some folks skipped out at the apartments where we lived and left him in the apartment. The management had him in a back room that was dark. I asked for him and they gave him to me. Tigger thought Zoey was a meal in a cage, and would not stop trying to get in the cage, so I gave Zoey to my then partner at the police department, Paul

That will conclude this post. These are most of the Texas animals except that Amanda now has six cats. She picked up a grey cat and named her Audrey. Audrey & Mittens got together & had a litter. Amanda kept 4 of the 7 kittens.

Matt & Amanda, George & Betty listen as Janice speaks forth....

After lunch, Matt plays doorman for Betty

Matt spied a small hole in the back of Amanda's levi's. So, he stuck his finger in it & gave a tug..Not only did it rip off her pocket, but it ripped off the material under the pocket, exposing Amanda's undies to the world. The people inside the restaurant by the window saw what happened and erupted in laughter. Amanda, to say the least, was embarrassed and not happy..Here she is talking to Janice & trying to keep the levi "flap" closed.

That will conclude this post. For the birthday girls (Betty & Amanda) the restaurant gave them each a large banana pudding. Looked so good, Janice & I got one..Scroll down to see other family stuff & don't forget to click on the "older posts" link at the bottom of each page for more of the same...Until next post, ya'll be careful........................John
