I was on normal patrol, 16 Aug 2001, in my beloved patrol car, # 5801. I was southbound on Taft approaching
Kell West, a busy intersection here in Wichita Falls Texas. There was a pick-up truck & Pontiac
Firebird northbound approaching the same intersection. I made eye contact with the driver of the pick-up truck. As we entered the intersection, he turned left right into the side of my car. Luckily for me, I had pulled my elbow off the drivers door when we hit. The impact spun my car around and down another 100 feet. Below are the pictures of my poor car..

Interior of 5801..I was picking glass out of my arm that would surface in a little blister for 2 months after the accident. I thought it was kind of them to clean my blood off the door & seat...
The door post. I had to climb over the radio & out the passenger door to get out. The wreck cost me a disc in the neck...That's it for this post..Scroll down for more family stuff......till next post...................John
